I can say, Jacobs is one of the most disturbing writers I have read, but she’s not straight gore or extreme.

She takes “regular” characters and twists their mind just a little bit, enough to turn them into psychopath candidates.

In this case, a group of boys which happen to have an awful idea: a zombie apocalypse on a small scale. Or maybe not that small?

These kids don’t have the average teenager dream of being a zombie killer superhero, no. They, otherwise, want to hunt. To hunt people.
Obviously, things go wrong. Very —wrong.

Caleb, one of them doesn’t see it clearly though, so we follow him along in this bloody hunting, trying to escape this madness he got trapped in.
How will this murder spree end? Or, in other words, will it ever end? Is Caleb smart and strong enough to trap them back?

Theresa Jacobs is an amazing narrator. She doesn’t get drowned in endless descriptions or unreadable words. When I read it, I always have the feeling a friend is telling me the story while having a coffee.

She is an author for a wide band of readers. Thriller, dark fantasy, horror… in my opinion, all of them enjoy her tales. You read her books in one go.

All her titles are very different between them, in length, characters, scenario and storyline. You would never get tired of grabbing any of her works blindly, “Who took the cookie from the cookie jar” plain style.

Synopsis

The Zombie Effect ***Warning course language and violence*****

The game they never should have played. Caleb adores his friends even though he spends most of his time as a mediator to their bickering. The one thing they all have in common is their love of zombies.

The choice to begin a zombie boy’s club is unanimous. However, his friends take a simple game of scaring people too far. When the fun changes to hurting innocent people, Caleb wants it to stop.

But they won’t listen, and the games grow darker still. Caleb is afraid to tell anyone and afraid to continue down the same path.

Will he be able to get out of the club and stop his friends before they go too far?

READERS SPEAK!

Well-written and believable, this story features youngsters as the main characters, but no way is it YA – it’s horror at its most terrifying. Recommended to horror fans everywhere! —Sarah Stuart

This story takes a group of teenagers and uses them to tell a much darker, dangerous story. In this book, you see the dangers of peer pressure. It’s also incredibly dark and perfect for fans of horror.Kellie Kummer

I love this book. Theresa Jacobs is an amazing author. I love her style of writing.
When you start reading this book, you’ll read it in one sitting. The characters are well written, and it’s scary to think that children could turn out the way some of the children turn out in this book.
This book will keep you on the edge of your seat.—Lacey
